Enjoy the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo by learning about its history at the new exhibit at The Heritage Society, co-hosted with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR). From award-winning paintings to vintage bronc bull riding photographs, this HLSR exhibit complements rodeo season in February and Texas History Month in March.

This exhibit showcases the cowboy spirit that is part of Houston's history. Rodeo culture brings together nearly all Texans through food, skills competitions, music, parades, fundraisers and family entertainment.

Some of the artifacts you can see:

  • Saddle holder from the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation
  • Articles Showcasing the Legacy of African American and Hispanic Cowboys
  • Guitars signed by many stars who performed at Houston Rodeo concerts, including Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Cody Johnson, Alabama and more.
  • Photographs, paintings, collectibles, costumes and memorabilia from all competitions
  • Howdy, the mascot of the Houston Rodeo, will not be missing either.

Visitors can enjoy an additional exhibit on Texas history from Duncan's General Store featuring vintage toys.

The exhibition will be open until July 31, 2024. The museum's gallery hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and tickets are just $5.
